Lauren DiSalle – Early Childhood Assistant

Lauren DiSalle

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

Lauren was born and raised in metro Detroit where she attended Oakland University for elementary education. She designed a kindergarten program and taught for 6 years within the Archdiocese of Detroit. In 2017 Lauren was nominated for “AOD teacher of the year”. She has experience with all early childhood grade levels.
Lauren relocated to Chicago with her husband in the summer of 2021 and was immediately drawn to Roycemore because of their mission statement. After speaking with several members of administration she knew it was the place for her. Lauren is so excited to dive into supporting the Early Childhood staff as a classroom assistant.
Her love of animals and nature are one of her favorite things to share with her students- and her favorite classroom activity has always been planning meaningful, unforgettable hands-on experiences.
Lauren lives with her husband Kevin, and their 2 cats Olive & Fig. She loves traveling, skiing, cooking and studying french.

Why do you teach?

I teach because I love seeing students develop their own love of learning. My teaching philosophy is based on student’s finding their own passions and interests- even at the early childhood level.

What is the impact you hope to make on students?

I want to continue to help young learners develop their sense of self and ownership over their education.

Why Roycemore?

I was blown away by their mission statement- It aligned so perfectly with my own teaching philosophy. I am ready to make a difference in Chicago!
