Patti Goldstein Volunteer of the Year Award 2025
Roycemore is excited to announce Early Childhood parent JD Zhao as the recipient of this year’s Patti Goldstein Volunteer of the Year Award!
Despite being relatively new to the Roycemore community, JD has already shown up for our school in a big way. This year, he served as a chair on the Roycemore Family Association (RFA) Executive Committee. His contributions to monthly RFA meetings are always well-organized, insightful, and deeply appreciated by both his fellow RFA members and the Advancement Team.
JD has also brought new energy to our community this school year through his passion for pickleball! As the driving force behind two new RFA open-play pickleball events in the gym, JD has helped create more opportunities for parents and students to come together, stay active, and have fun.
Whether bringing in donuts for the faculty on a professional development day, teaching Early Childhood students about Lunar New Year traditions, or cheering on the Griffins in basketball even though he doesn’t have students in the upper divisions, JD is consistently enthusiastic and proud of our Roycemore Community.
In accepting this award, JD graciously recognized his wife Lei’s support, acknowledging that his ability to give back to Roycemore is made possible by only her partnership.
Thank you, JD (and Lei), for your volunteerism and dedication to Roycemore!
"Volunteers are an integral part of the Roycemore Community — from the Board of Trustees, Roycemore Family Association, and Ambassador Program, to each and every committee. Thank you on behalf of the Roycemore Community to all those who graciously and generously offer their time and talents to the benefit of Roycemore School and our students. Roycemore wouldn't be the wonderful place it is without you."
