Next up in our “Meet the Eisner Scholars” series is Marko M. ‘25, a current senior. Marko has been a Griffin since Junior Kindergarten, making this his 13th year at Roycemore. “I’ve always had a great experience here, with great teachers, great everything,” he said.

Marko has enjoyed growing up at a small school because of the bonds he’s formed with his teachers and classmates. “It gives you a really good connection with the teachers and other students,” said Marko. “You’re able to know everyone in your grade and the whole high school.”

This year, for example, Marko has built a great relationship with Upper School science teacher Dr. Dudek. Marko has been maximizing the unique small-school learning environment this year during his AP Physics C class and making the most of the individualized attention he gets with Dr. Dudek.

“I always have a great time in STEM classes, especially Physics. I’m going to be going into engineering next year. I love seeing how the physical demonstrations apply to the real world,” said Marko. “Dr. Dudek does a great job — it’s really fun in there. And my brother had the same thing with him four years ago, so it’s cool that he’s had my whole family.”

Marko acknowledges the impact that the Eisner Scholarship has had on his 13 years at Roycemore. “It’s a great program that’s allowed me to go here for my whole high school experience,” he said. “I got it in 9th grade, so it’s really been useful for me and helped me connect with people here and have the great experience I’ve had.”

Marko offered some advice for students currently applying for next year’s scholarship, echoing the wisdom of his fellow Eisner Scholars: “Just be yourself. Be authentic to who you are, about your experiences, and what makes you the perfect student for Roycemore.”
