Description: From Executive Director Sarah Stein Greenberg and the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (aka the “d.school”), Creative Acts for Curious People: How to Think, Create, and Lead in Unconventional Ways is a timely and highly visual resource for people who seek to choose curiosity in the face of uncertainty. Created by some of the world’s most inventive and unconventional minds, including d.school and IDEO founder David Kelley, Readymade magazine founder Grace Hawthorne, choreographer Aleta Hayes, and Google chief innovation evangelist Frederik Pferdt, the book’s more than 80 captivating and effective exercises were hand-picked from the d.school’s deep archive by Stein Greenberg. They encourage thinking, doing, learning, feeling, making, exploring, experimenting, and collaborating, and make the transformative experience of the d.school’s classes, methods, and tools accessible to everyone for their own creative journey.
Stein Greenberg will be in conversation with Liz Gerber, Ph.D. (FAN ’13 and ‘16), a professor at Northwestern University, co-director of Northwestern’s Center for Human Computer Interaction + Design, and faculty founder of Design for America,
This event will be recorded and available later on the FAN website and our YouTube channel.
