The Value of a Roycemore Education

Our Commitment

At Roycemore School we value each member of our community and the unique contribution each student makes to our collective excellence. We are among the most diverse independent schools in our region, and we believe racial, cultural and economic diversity enriches our school. Because Roycemore is committed to remaining accessible and affordable to families from a wide range of economic backgrounds, we use a sliding scale tuition model that applies a tuition range based on each family’s particular circumstances.

Tuition & Fees 2021-2022

Sliding Scale Tuition

Financial Aid Requirements

Our fees include Family Association dues, most activities, and classroom materials. Early payment discounts are available; semi-annual and monthly payment plans are available for a small service charge.

We use a sliding scale tuition model to personalize a tuition process that takes into account each family’s unique circumstances.

Decisions about admission and sliding scale tuition are two separate processes, so new students must apply for admission as well as sliding scale consideration. Returning families requesting consideration for sliding scale tuition are required to reapply annually as part of the re-enrollment process in January of each year.

All financial information provided is held in strict confidence.

To help us objectively calculate what a family is able to contribute to educational expenses, families are asked to complete an online application through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.

  • Submit most recent tax forms to FACTS

Tuition Assistance applications for the 2021-2022 school year are still available. If you are interested in being considered for tuition remission, please apply for admission to Roycemore when you apply for tuition remission. Students must be accepted and make a commitment to enroll before their tuition remission is reviewed. So, aligning both processes is in the best interest of each applicant family.

Scholarship Opportunities

Our extraordinary financial commitment to the tuition assistance program seeks to sustain access to Roycemore for diverse and qualified students.

Off-Campus Enrollment Option

For the 2020-2021 school year, we are offering multiple enrollment options for families. Families that choose to enroll their student(s) in our off-campus instruction option will receive a reduction in fees. The chart below shows details related to this fee reduction offering.

*Please note that one course is defined as a year-long course. Two semester-long courses taken in different semesters would be viewed as one course for the purposes of tuition. Tuition does not include books, advising, college counseling or participation in other activities that are available to full-time Roycemore students.

Fees for full-time students cover annual expenses for course materials, database access, technology expenses, parent association fees, and books (in the Lower School only).

Full Time Roycemore Online Remote Learning students are also eligible to apply for support through the sliding scale tuition program.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for sliding scale tuition?

To apply, you will need to submit an online application through the FACTS Grant & Aid assessment system. You will need a copy of your most recent federal 1040 tax form and W2 wage statements.

Does Roycemore offer any merit scholarships?

Roycemore offers one or more Eisner Scholarships for Upper School students each year. The Robert Eisner Distinguished Scholar Program rewards academic excellence and recognizes truly outstanding 9th and 10th graders with a full-tuition, renewable scholarship. This year’s deadline is Monday, November 18, 2020.

If we qualify for sliding scale, do we automatically receive it every year?

All families who currently receive Sliding Scale Tuition must reapply each year. Our Access and Affordability Committee will attempt to keep a family’s tuition at a similar level each school year as long as no major changes have occurred in the family’s financial situation during the previous year.

If parents are divorced, who should apply for sliding scale?

We require that both the custodial and the non-custodial parent (or both co-custodial parents) complete and submit an application with FACTS.
