American recently paid RESPECTS to two incredible human beings whose funerals were on back-to-back days.  While Aretha Franklin and John McCain come from very different backgrounds and experiences, they both stood for some of the same values.  Franklin was known as The Queen- and the first woman to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  McCain was known as the Maverick- and a war hero.  They were individuals...

I am ecstatic to be attending such an awesome school, which seems to be the perfect fit for me.

COLLEGE! What a scary word.Emerson. What a soothing word. I started the search for my dream college near the end of my junior year. It was a very overwhelming process, and at the time, I wasn’t sure what I was looking for in a university. As I slowly began to come up with a list of qualities that I wanted my college to have, Emerson became a strong contender. It was...

I believe in my ability to make any situation thrown at me my own, and to put a positive and hopeful spin on it.

The thought of attending Loyola University of Chicago’s Honor’s College this fall brings some excitement combined with a lot of uncertainty. In all honesty, Loyola is not where I planned to end up, or where I particularly wanted to. I am excited to be living in the city, a train ride away from downtown, and to make dorming on Loyola’s campus my own personal “going away” for college. I am...

Roycemore has prepared me for college and beyond and I cannot thank my teachers enough for pushing me to be the best me that I can be.

Whether people like it or not, Roycemore is a community. We all care about each other in one way or another and we are really behind...

Knowing that Roycemore “had my back” with each exposure has given me a real sense of what possibilities lie ahead. Use all of the tools you are offered and the opportunities are endless.

I loved Macalester before my first campus tour even started. However, it was when I was flipping through the international student handbook, I knew for sure that I am going to the right place. Eighty pages of detailed information ranging from important issues like visa application to small details like how to write a check just dedicated to international students? The thoughtfulness, professionalism, and dedication to globalism presented in this...

Many current students report that they think Hamilton is their second home now. Their school video of “Hamilton is home” really warms my heart, and students are living like a big family.

After making some hard admissions decisions, I finally chose Hamilton College as my “home” for the next 4 (or 3) years. It is a small liberal arts school with only about 1,800 undergraduate students. Hamilton has an open curriculum, allowing students to study whatever they are interested in, and economics, which I’m majoring in, is its strongest academic program. Hamilton also encourages students to find what they love and what...
