Meet Adrienne Floro, Roycemore School’s Assistant Head of School for Academics and Middle School Division Head.
Ms. Floro has worked closely with faculty to bring many initiatives to Roycemore that create a valuable experience for the whole student. Some of these initiatives include creating a chapter of Erika’s Lighthouse to empower our Middle School and Upper School students to work to the cause of teen mental health and suicide prevention; applying and being selected as a TED-ED school where our students will prepare and present TED Talks; implementing TOP rated math curriculum and Illustrative Mathematics K-8; and bringing the EdReports.
Adrienne’s background includes experience as a Middle School Principal, Assistant Middle School Principal and District Assessment Coordinator. Adrienne has been a fifth and sixth grade teacher, providing instruction in math, English language arts and social studies. Prior to moving from the classroom to school administration, Adrienne served as an Academic Specialist serving the needs of gifted and talented students. Adrienne was a finalist for Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year in 2012 and was named the Outstanding Middle-Level Administrator of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of Middle Level Educators in 2018-19. We are fortunate to have her expertise on the Roycemore team!
Adrienne says: “I believe education to be the most important job on the planet. Fortunately for me, education is my vocation and avocation. It’s my passion. I feel very privileged to spend my life fostering a love of learning and personal growth among the students, colleagues, and parents I’m blessed to know and work with on a daily basis. Roycemore’s small, diverse, progressive, innovative culture puts students first as the leaders of their own learning and supports them remarkably well in their academic and social/emotional development. Students at Roycemore are SEEN, KNOWN, and HONORED.”
