2021 Robert Eisner Scholar Named

Congratulations to Marko M. on his recent recognition as one of this year’s Robert Eisner Distinguished Scholars!

Each year, Roycemore awards at least one new, full-tuition Eisner scholarship to an incoming 9th or 10th grade student, based on that student’s demonstrated academic achievement, social justice and civic engagement work, and leadership abilities. Award winners are selected by an independent committee.

“I have been at Roycemore for almost my entire life (since Junior Kindergarten). The most important part of my Roycemore experience has been the community and the family that I have gained through my years at school. I’m able to have good relationships with teachers and my peers due to the small class sizes, and I credit that to be one of the things that has led me to excel in school. It means a whole lot to me to receive this award. It shows that I am not only worrying about myself, but helping others around me as well. If I know that I am bettering my peers and myself, that’s all I need to keep me going through high school and through the rest of my career. I know this sounds like some kind of Academy Award acceptance speech now, but I’d really like to thank my parents and grandparents for helping me, giving me a strong foundation when I was little and just starting off at Roycemore and supporting me along the way.” – Marko M.
