Many members of the Roycemore community may remember Iman, who boldly left his native Afghanistan to move the United States and attend high school at Roycemore. Iman’s impressive journey didn’t end when he graduated in 2019. Iman attends Warren Wilson College in North Carolina, a liberal arts school known for its unique and demanding academic work and service requirements.

Iman reports that his years at Roycemore, where he was a member of the student government, scholastic bowl team, soccer and cross-country teams, and participated in multiple service projects, taught him how to manage his time, social life, and academics perfectly. Iman says that he is taking full advantage of the liberal arts curriculum at Warren Wilson, where he has already studied economics and business management and writing. He was chosen by his professor to be a writing tutor for fellow students. He’s on the varsity soccer team. He worked in the college’s Advancement Office. And he has participated in multiple clubs and student life activities such as white water canoeing and kayaking.

Iman credits Roycemore for preparing him to be an involved and committed student at college and sends a special message of love back to Roycemore: “Greetings, love, wishes and respect to all my teachers and supporters at Roycemore for helping me grow, flourish and become the person I am today.”
